LONDON, Oh. – To many farmers, an airplane is as important as a tractor. Surveying crops, spotting lost livestock and locating broken drainage tiles are just a few of the mundane chores assigned to the aerial equipment. But when some piglets were sick and the veterinarian was half a state away, one farmer’s airplane became an air-ambulance. And next time he’ll remember to tape the cardboard box closed for the ride.
